Andrea,
Thanks for the response. I wasn't clear on what profile QT supported.
I suppose I assumed if they were "Main" profile compliant, that they
would have all the "baseline" profile tools as well.
No, unfortunately I don't have an Ipod for testing.
I am using Quicktime mostly for testing my encoder. So far it's been
adequate for this.
I suppose I'll have to move on to another decoder for testing FMO.
I wonder why Quicktime chose to go Main profile only ?
I suppose it's main purpose isn't real-time decoding anyway.
Thanks again.
Cheers,
Bobby

Subject: Re: QT 7.1 h.264 and FMO
Hello
FMO is part of the loss resilience features...
Main Profile does not support FMO.
QT Player 7.x H.264 codec is Main Profile so it seems reasonable to
reject it when trying to decode it.
One interesting point is that Baseline Profile does include FMO.
the iPod video is Baseline 1.3 Profile compliant... in theory therefore
it should be able to decode it. Are you able to perform such test?
best regards,
andrea
