Is there any way to get a sequence grabber to work without using any Quickdraw calls ?

I noticed this question's been asked at least once before, but never answered. I've implemented a sequence grabber for an iSight camera using quickdraw gworlds and ports etc. As quickdraw is getting depreciated ( I get more than enough warnings in XCode thanks ! ) and with Apple telling us to use Quartz instead of QD I figure it doesn't harm to ask again. It hurts my sensibility to have these tiny little bits of quickdraw in a predominantly quartz application !
