QTMovieView: paste

I've put together a *very simple* video tool, that allows a user to select a portion of one video and then paste it into another (newly created QTMovie using [QTMovie movie]). Everything works as expected, however when pasting only audio is coming across. I am using QTMovieView's copy: and paste: calls to copy from one view and paste to another.

Oddly, if I open QuickTime Player and select Edit->Paste, the expected audio and video is present. So, the correct data is making it onto the pasteboard, it's just not making it into the view.

Does anyone have any insight on why this would be?
