Does anyone have experience with using HREF tracks for tracking QuickTime
movie views? I am thinking of placing an HREF track at the beginning of my
video that pings my server when the movie is played in the background. I am
wondering:
1 - Will this work whenever there is a live Internet connection, regardless
of whether the movie was played from my web site, a remote website or
downloaded and played on a viewer's computer?
2 - What happens if my server is unreachable? Will the movie play without
issue or will the user get prompted that there was a problem? I obviously
want a solution that doesn¹t annoy the user if the server isn't reachable.
Please let me know how others are tackling this problem.
