| I call "GetComponentInfo()" to get the handle containing the (pascal string) component name. i am assuming this is in the "current system encoding"?? there is no info on this when english is my preferred language, i get this string: Component: QuickTime Movie When i put japanese at the top in my international pref pane, i get a string like this: Component: QuickTime ÉÄÅ[ÉrÅ[ Why is that? why is it not in japanese? i create the CFString using GetSystemEncoding(), but it returns 0 (macRoman) even when i put japanese at the top, which is contrary to the documentation. however, if i manually set the encoding to macJapanese (1) when creating the CFString, it doesn't create anything. So What am I doing wrong? -dave |
