Re: saving a dataRef moive

I am able to successfully create a movie completely in RAM, and then
play it as well.  Now my question is, how can I save this movie out to
a file at a later point?

See the section called "Memory-Based Movies" in Tim Monroe's MacTech Vol:18 Issue: 11 article:

     http://www.mactech.com/articles/mactech/Vol.18/18.11/ShesGottaHaveIt/index.html

The kDataRefExtensionInitializationData extention discussed in the above is also shown in the "Tagging Handle and Pointer Data References in QuickTime" Technical Note:

     http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/tn1195.html

That should get you going.

regards,
edward
