Value for QTCaptureDeviceAVCTransportControlsAttribute returns
playbackmode=0, speed=0, for both camera & vcr mode.
Is there any way to identify vcr/camera mode?
Anyone know how does iMovie identifies mode of DV camera?
Any inputs would be greatly helpful

believe you query the QTCaptureDeviceAVCTransportControlsAttribute of
the QTCaptureDevice to get the NSDictionary of control values. Then,
look up the value for the
QTCaptureDeviceAVCTransportControlsPlaybackMode key in the
dictionary.
does that make sense?
