embedded movie window scroll/resize bug

Hello,

The problem described below is seen with QT6.0.2 on:

ie6.0 / ns7.0 - windows 2000
ie5.1 / ns7.0 - Mac OS8.6

The problem does NOT occur on either browser in Mac OSX (using ie5.2)

Description:
Resizing the browser window to smaller than the embedded movie's dimensions
in (ie6.0 / ns7.0 - windows 2000) & (ie5.1 / ns7.0 - Mac OS8.6) causes a
browser crash

Scrolling the browser window so that the movie goes off viewport in
(ie6.0 / ns7.0 - windows 2000) causes a browser crash

Scrolling the browser window so that the movie goes off viewport in
(ie5.1 / ns7.0 - Mac OS8.6) causes rendering problems - movies disappear,
have stripes or double render.

I have tested several movies and found that movies from apple.com/quicktime
do not cause any of these problems. The movies that do cause these problems
are created by a client of mine.

Any pointers would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks,
Richard

We have seen this behavior in Netscape's browsers, but never in
IE.
The browser tells the plug-in where to draw itself and sometimes
seems to get "confused" momentarily. During the development of QT4 I
spent a while trying to detect some sort of pattern so I could code
around the behavior, but I was unable to come up with anything...
