Re: Gamma Factor

Ben Waggoner <email@hidden> remarked:

But Macs ships with a default gamma of 1.8, and Wintel boxes with a gamma between 2.2 and 2.5. This auto-correction gets us a lot closer than before.

The QuickTime Player enables one to adjust brightness, contrast, tint and color (see Movie > Show/Hide Video Controls). Unfortunately, there are no comparable controls available via the Plug-in nor are these settings available to applications such as LiveStage Pro for "wiring."

So, the question becomes: If these controls were available via the Plug-in and/or one could offer a "wired" interface to use them in skinned media (e.g. the latest series of BMW movies), would content developers and their audiences be better off than they are now?

If the answer is "yes," it would be appropriate to submit a feature request via the bug reporter. Is this still the way that feature requests are made?
