I'm sorry to seem insistent on this subject but despite dedicated
search I haven't as yet found a plausible, definitive answer,
particularly in the light of the additional "gamma factor" which
makes creating acceptable QT files for cross platform streaming
quite tricky, IMHO!
What exactly is the best method to alter the video settings (color,
tint, brightness, etc.,) of an already compressed hinted file for
RTSP crossplatform streaming?
1. Work on original file or make new movie?
2. In (old or new) movie, delete if present, all hinting tracks?
3. Use "onboard" Video Controller to adust settings, save as self-
contained - (Advantage: short rendering time)
4. Export to hinted movie
5. Make reference movie
6. Place files in appropriate folders on web- and DSS-servers?
OR
7. Export as QT movie (AND hinted?), apply filters, save (Very
long rendering and increase in file size)
8. Make ref movie, place into folders, etc.,
OR
9. Take video track from a "corrected" movie and "add" to a new one,
then export to hinted, etc., etc.,
This problem has been giving me nightmares for days, so I would
truly appreciate any (not-too-confusing!) help...
A further question: On the filter setting panel there are two
small white dots (one next to effects selection, the other on top of
small preview window) which, according to Judith Stern and Robert
Lettieri's just published "QT fo Mac and Win", should allow for
dragging and extending the panel or preview window, so one can see
the result of applying the filters better, but it doesn't seem
to work :-( !!
