I use a Sony DVMC DA1, It converts between analog audio/video source
and DV through my G4's FireWire ports.

You can also use a DV camera or DV-VCR, like the Panasonic AG-DV2000.
The downside is that you need to use the camera or DV-VCR to transfer
the material to DV tape before transfering it to the computer.
