I'm not able to find it on ours, which is MacOS 9. And although Apple's website has a link to download iMovie, it's the MacOS X version. I need the MacOS 9 version. Does anybody know where I can get a version of iMovie that will run on MacOS 9?

iMovie 2 is the last version that will run on OS9 and I think - though I could be wrong - that it came either bundled with a new Mac like the iBooks, iMac DVs or could be purchased from the store. It was never available as a free download (iMovie 1 probably was).

You might have to dig around on the so-called software restore CDs that came with your machine - what kind is it anyway?

You really might/ought, if your machine can handle it, upgrade to osX. If your machine cannot handle such an upgrade, iMovie probably won't handle much editing given how long it will take.

Also, I believe I had found a way to import analogue streams via my Sony Digital 8 camera without needing to put it down on the camera's tape. I think the cassette holder needs to be empty, and there's some fiddling, but I am pretty sure it can be done. Sorry it's been a while, and I am not able to now set up stuff to try to do it so that I can report accurately. But if you're doing a lot of conversions, it's nice to not have to run the tape as well.
