working with MPEG 2

I have a MPEG 2 DVD made with my phillips recorder (DVD+RW) the mac reads it just fine. But there are two things I'd like to do if possible.

1) cut off 5 minutes at the end (even if it means edit and copy to a DVD-R) 2) make it a looping DVD. That it replays w/o pushing play again.

what tools do i need to do this? are any of them shareware or freeware?
