I do actually, I just downloaded and installed 3ivx_d4_45_osx.dmg. I've run the uninstaller script but that didn't help. Do you know how I can manually remove them ? Why should this stop mpeg-4 from working ?

You don't happen to have 3ivx or Divx codecs installed, do you?
