I think I was the one who suggested it... and it's still the case...
there is a newer tool from Ambrosia that does something similar
(intercepts audio from applications, so it can be written to disk as
uncompressed audio).
None of these apps really convert RM - I don't know of anything that
could do that, at least not consistently for all flavors of RM - they
are just the software equivalent of running an audio cable from your
line-out (speaker port) to your line-in (mic port) and recording the
output to an uncompressed file. This also means these apps work with
pretty much anything that makes sounds on OSX... very handy.
