I have experience with Flash 5 files not playing well in QT 5. As I
remember, the files would play with Flash 4 - features. Any Flash 5
feature just didn't work. Could you post an example of a QT 6 movie
containing a Flash 6 (MX) movie, where the Flash won't play at all?
If my idea is right, you could use the Flash track itself to detect the
version number. Like filters. Of course Macromedia provides elaborate
JavaScript detection scripts for Flash. Or open the Flash source file
and try to export as Flash 5. You'll get a report of all Flash 6+
features that can't be published as Flash 5.
