Check out an app called Camtasia. We use it to make screen movies for

you can always use QTPro to convert.
Camtasia Studio will capture to the TSCC codec but you can export to
any QuickTime codec from their editor. For screen capture this is the
best program I have used. The info on the upcoming release of Snapz
looks promising but it is not available for download as far as I know.
TechSmith recently released a new codec called EnSharpen which is a
QuickTime codec for playing back TSCC files in QuickTime. If you do
your editing on a Mac you can install the free EnSharpen Decoder on
your Mac, do your screen capture on Windows, transfer the files over to
your Mac and edit them into your workflow.
