TechSmith EnSharpen 1.0

After trying out the EnSharpen 1.0 encoder, I deliberately did not install the decoder so as to see what the audience experience would be when the movie was viewed. Unfortunately, this experience wasn't a good one because QT balked saying something to the effect of, "You don't have the right CODEC and it isn't on the component download server.

I would expect TechSmith to take whatever action was appropriate to getting its decoder on the Apple component download system but apparently they have not. Since Camtasia is big on Windows and has QuickTime as an output option (using this CODEC?), I expected all of these pieces to be in place by now.

Any insights into why not?
