English Subtiles on Windows Xp Chinese version

Hi Sorry,
if this is a well known bug but Im trying to put English subtitles on a quicktime movie using "Textation". All is well and good viewed on a mac or on an English language version of windows xp but when viewed under a chinese language version of Xp it tries unsuccessfully to translate 90% of subtitles to Chinese. Is there anything I can do to stop it doing this or do I have to abandon the text layer of the quicktime video.
