Ah ok. Well thanks for the info.

I have been using it at its highest quality though, so that definitely is unrelated to the h.264 color problems. Thanks though!

Try lowering the compression slider (increasing the compression
factor) to see how it works: you will get horizontal "bands" when the
codec simplifies the image. An RLE codec is best suited for large
areas of uniform color (read mattes, CGI material _without grain_
etc).

I meant to write that the animation codec is totally lossless... not
lossy. But I'm sure most of you know this already.
