Well, on Friday we finally got bit by the Microsoft Eola PC "bug",
with MS automatic updates, on our 1,000 or so PCs.
Of course we have been warned for years, but responded with 1/3
denial (lack of time to look for solutions), 1/3 hope MS would pay
Eola off (or win the court case), and 1/3 hope for an automatic
"miracle" solution (ha!).
Looking for the best recommendations for:
1. What to do with new pages with QT movies (don't have a PC at home
to test recent posts). Would want them 'future-proofed'.
2. What to do with existing pages, short of totally rewriting them.
Pages with poster movies. Some of ours have 12 movies!
Now the PC user has to click 12 times when they get to the page.
Please, no lectures, I know I should have known better, but it's
worked fine up to now.
3. What to do with existing pages, with only one or two embedded movies.
Goal...to eliminate having to click to download the active-x control
for every movie.
I have looked and read ALL the links referenced in these boards, and
others, just asking what solutions developers like. Have not had the
time to test any yet.
Or are some just hunkered down hoping for the "miracle"? Maybe by
Monday ;-)
