You might have the same problem I've reported. The audio of my AVI files (generic MPEG-4 with MP2 audio) worked fine up through QuickTime 7.0.1 and DivX 5.2.1. When I went to QuickTime 7.0.2 the audio stopped. You might try reverting back to QuickTime 7.0.1 -- see http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime701reinstallerforquicktime704.html. One experiment you might try is to see if VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/), MPlayer 2.0 (http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net), or MPlayer 1.0 (http://www.mplayerhq.hu) can play your AVI file with audio. If they can then you know there's hope! If you'd like to avoid reverting QuickTime to version 7.0.1 you might be able to use ffmpegX (http://homepage.mac.com/major4) to convert your audio to MP3 format. QuickTime doesn't seem to tell you the audio format -- ffmpegX does, so see audio format you are using. --Joel On Apr 20, 2006, at 11:53 PM, Nat Garner wrote:
