Thanks Brad,
So as long as the channels are assigned properly in a QT or AIFF file,
regardless of the actual order in the file, the fold down will occur as you
specified?
(L,R,C,LFE,Ls,Rs) -> (L,R):
out[00] out[01]
in[00]: (1.000) (0.000)
in[01]: (0.000) (1.000)
in[02]: (0.707) (0.707)
in[03]: (0.000) (0.000)
in[04]: (0.707) (0.000)
in[05]: (0.000) (0.707)
Thanks,
Jamie

Jamie,
Our export chain uses the same path as our playback code. You absolutely
can export 5.1 -> stereo. Here are the mix coefficients you'll get:
(L,R,C,LFE,Ls,Rs) -> (L,R):
out[00] out[01]
in[00]: (1.000) (0.000)
in[01]: (0.000) (1.000)
in[02]: (0.707) (0.707)
in[03]: (0.000) (0.000)
in[04]: (0.707) (0.000)
in[05]: (0.000) (0.707)
