I'll answer my question I figured it out over the weekend. It's not perfect but it works. The idea is to add a streaming movie channel to iTunes that will let me pick a movie or watch it like a TV station.

http://www.archiveclassicmovies.com/acmtv_test.mov

Drop it in iTunes and see how it works.
