Let me clarify, I am getting the preference panel to acknowledge
that my code
is correct, (if I enter complete junk, I'll get a dialog telling
that the
incorrect code has been entered) the problem is that it is not
writing to
preferences or whereever that the valid code has been entered.
Therefore upon
subsequent launches of System Preferences, the QT panel will show
only the default
standard edition.
It sounds like your preferences file is either corrupt or not
writeable - I'd suspect permissions problems on first blush. Try
repairing permissions using Disk Utility - if that doesn't help, next
step is to to trash your Quicktime preference files and try again.
I'm not sure where the QT reg code is stored, however, so I'd try the
permissions fix first.
