I want to accelerate the export of h264 files for web and iPod.
Check which options you are using - the multipass takes longer (for
better quality).
(Somewhat on topic can the iPod take a hinted mp4?)
It would just be carrying a lot of packet data you don't need - why do
you want to do this?
I have a couple of XServes taking DV files and ripping them for export
and then does some post processing. Since I am doing 75 min of source
per hour I need something better than unity in export. What I noticed
is that memory isn't full, the disk isn't being hit hard and the
processors are only running about 60% each. Its obviously not a
hardware issue unless the bus is choked.
What can I do to get it done faster?
If that's true, try running 2 instances of the encoding process. Some
parts of compression aren't parallelisable.
