Playing DVD's in Powerpoint

Is it possible to play DVD's in Powerpoint?
I compressed a movie out of iMovie and it looked good, but I lost my menus, etc. in the DVD I had just completed.
I tried to hyperlink to the video files, which seemed smart until I realized there was no sound.

Perhaps there is some way to start a DVD player that would then find the inserted DVD disc?

Thanks for any help -- this seems like a cool idea. It might even be cooler if a little button would remain to return to Powerpoint during a demonstration.

Hi -

Do any of you know a good program (Macintosh OS X - based) that will
combine multiple MPEG files into a .MOV file? I have 9 MPEG files
that need to be combined into a .MOV file and I don't know how to do it.

Thanks,

Triton

Hi,
I'm having troubles playing *.qcp files.
I'm using Quicktime 7.0.4.0, did Quicktime removed the qcelp codec's?
Thanks Chen.

Hi all,

I have a routine in my program that builds a Chapter Track for the
movie that is currently being edited.

I am given an array of Chapter values (title string and timevalue). I
loop thru this array, for each chapter I create a text media sample
and add it to a Text Track using TextMediaAddTextSample(). This
works fine when my first Chapter is located at the beginning of the
movie...

However, my issues occur when the first Chapter in the array is not
at time 0:00:00.00. The resulting Chapter Track is "off" by the
amount of time between the beginning of the movie and when the first
chapter is supposed to appear. For example, if I have two chapters:
Title 1 at 10 seconds and Title 2 at 25 seconds, the QuickTime Player
shows Title 1 at 0 seconds and Title 2 at 15 seconds.

If I have read the documentation correctly, TextMediaAddTextSample()
seems to have no way of forcing a text sample to be placed at a
certain time.

I have tried InsertEmptyTrackSegment() and setTrackOffset() to move
the media samples "over" by the appropriate amount, but my results
have not been success.

My Question is "How do I add my first text sample at a specific, non-
zero time location in the Text Track?"

Thanks in advance.

regards,

douglas

Hi Everyone,
Could use some help creating an AHREFTrack within QT. I get as far as "adding and scaling" but am not able to rename the track to "AHREFTrack". I type in the new name but it goes right back to "TextTrack" as soon as I press enter or move the focus to another track.
Any help with this would sure be appreciated. I'm trying to create a url jump that will open in a different frame...
