Re: Fast Start or not?

I can't remember which version of QuickTime started to make Save As be fast start too (it just means the movie info stuff is at the start of the file), but I think it may have been QuickTime 4.

As Eric pointed out, any changes to the file after the export will most likely cause the movie info to go back to the end of the file again, preventing it from fast starting. I've never worked out what you have to do to make export with fast start fail, it sometimes seemed like a two to one chance it would happen. Or more exactly, the times I checked to see if it was fast start it was, but other times that I didn't bother, I found out later that it wasn't fast start, and had to fix the file.

Probably you could export everything and put the files onto your remote server, and then test the links. You'll only have to re-save the ones that don't start correctly.
