RE: QuickTime Broadcaster - What else from Peter K

Peter,

I'm new to all of this and am inching my way thru all of the
postings (which makes me understand just how much I don't understand!).

The something else that I use is "Wirecast". I've used it
connected to our intranet to stream a lecture, and also used it as a
stand alone - recording on an external LaCie hard drive. Works well.

Subject: QT Broadcaster performance

Hi,

I am just testing QT Broadcaster on PB G4 1.5GHz and MacBook Pro
2.0GHz and I couldn't
get higher fps then 15 at:

MPEG4, no limit on data rate (the same with limited data rate),
320x240 res., live input from iSight or DV Camera.
The same with H.264

1st Core at 70%, 2nd at 40%

G4 at 98%

I would like to know if QTB is capable of higher fps (I tested 1GHz
P4 with MS encoder that worked full PAL res. at 22-25 fps ...).

I simply can't believe QT encoder is so slow.

Any ideas ?
What else could be used to for livestreaming in MPEG4/H.264 ?

Thank you.

Peter
