Just wondering if it makes sense for one of the more experienced,
well-spoken, non-emotional members of this forum to call one of the
QuickTime product managers, and try to get to the bottom of this.
Heck, go all the way to the top if you have to. Does Steve Jobs
accept phone calls?
I never thought much of those web feedback forms, personally, btw.
Imagine finding a fly in your soup in a restaurant, and having the
host tell you to file a complaint on line?

I know the Apple guys must be lurking here, but has anyone tried to
contact anyone at Apple directly, by email or phone, and let them
know, if they don't already, how disruptive this has been to some
developers, and try to get some clarification?
I'm not sure Apple is realizing how much this is hurting their
reputation.
I find it hard to believe they only care about the iPod and the
living room now, but maybe it's true. A sad day indeed.

Hi Frank:

I've put out a call for all interested QT developers on this list to contact me off-list if they would like their name added as a signor, on a letter which I will be sending to appropriate channels at Apple. Feel free to let me know if you would like to be added as a signor to my letter.

My hope is that my letter will be reasoned & well-written... :)

I currently have more than 100 clients (spinControl:VR) who are directly impacted by this update, plus several in-progress QT projects which are having to be modified, pushing back any launch by my clients for these projects.

Please see my previous post to this list for more details:
<http://lists.apple.com/archives/QuickTime-Users/2006/Sep/msg00211.html>

I have had several clients let me know that they've received responses to their bug reports submitted to Apple. Text of one reply is below.
