Nowadays - DV to Web, which tool(s)?

In "The Old Days" the choice to convert video for web presentation would have been Movie Cleaner (aka "Media Cleaner," aka "Cleaner").

Unless I'm mistaken, that has fallen out of favor (or simply been surpassed by technology).

What do y'all use nowadays to convert DV/HDV source for presentation over the Internet? Is it now just a matter of choosing an output setting in Final Cut Pro/Express (or whatever)?

[At this point, I'm not considering the need for creating multiple sizes/data rates for streaming to differently enabled clients... just the basic "what tool do I use to mash DV/HDV down to web-manageable data rates/sizes?" question.]
