Re: Nowadays - DV to Web, which tool(s)?

Unless I'm mistaken, that has fallen out of favor (or simply been
surpassed by technology).

What do y'all use nowadays to convert DV/HDV source for presentation
over the Internet? Is it now just a matter of choosing an output
setting in Final Cut Pro/Express (or whatever)?

[At this point, I'm not considering the need for creating multiple
sizes/data rates for streaming to differently enabled clients... just
the basic "what tool do I use to mash DV/HDV down to web-manageable
data rates/sizes?" question.]

Thanks,

eo

I capture my HC3e footage with HDVSplit, convert this to non-interlaced 720p with TMPGEnc, then edit with Vegas.

The 720p "master" goes through TMPGenc again to the format I need...

I encoded to Flash with Riva, but still need to learn to get a good
quality with that...
