Re: Having a real problem with QT 7 on my OS 10.3.9 system - need help removing

(I have blown away preferences and run system clean up tools to no avail)

Anyone know how to remove QT from a mac completely? I am really under the
gun to fix my pro apps and this is the only thing that was changed recently,
the update to QT.

I cannot find a re-installer for 7.1.3 to drop it down to 7.0.1 or other, so
that I can then use one of the reinstallers to get it to below rev 7.

Am assuming by your last line that you've looked at:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60341

(uninstall QT3-6, with LINKS to some QT7 tools), if the re-installers there don't work on 7.1.3? Perhaps the Uninstall is hidden in the "Custom Install" option, same as pre-7 installers?
However, did come upon this thread:

http://www.idevapps.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-5585.html

which states:

"You *can* remove QuickTime --

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Frameworks/QuickTime.framework

However, your machine will be unusable afterwards. Do not do this at home, folks"
So not sure if doing the above, then immediately installing QT would work or not. (Read the whole thread, esp. the end to see what I mean.)

FWIW, am running FCP 4.5 (HD) with QT 7.1.2 Pro (not the latest!) on OS X.3.9 without problems. Never upgrade during projects though, so 7.1.3 will remain in my unchecked upgrades for awhile...

And on stupid assumptions, you do have enough RAM and Hard Drive memory for the renders, correct?
