Steve I am a grandpa... tho with a computer background. I used iMovie, then FCE & now FC Studio 3 & iMovie '08. I have 3 grandkids playing soccer on 3 different teams practices Mon/Wed (2) and Tue/Thu (1) and 3 games on Sat. We have tons of DV tapes & Photos but have never been able to keep up with turning these into movies/slide/shows/DVDs. iMovie '08 is manna from heaven I can take an hour of practice video and turn it into an acceptable movie in about 30 minutes... then publish it to the web/itunes/iphone for coaches/parents to see. No way could I do that with any other app I have seen. Sure, I will use FCP for special effects and to eventually publish a season highlights video-- but iMovie 08 rocks for the daily stuff. I suspect we will see iMovie HD/06 features added to iMovie 08, and the skimming, story-boarding UI added to FCE/PCP Steve Friederang wrote: I was a school teacher. I actually interview grandpa's as part of a company called Living Legacy Interviews.I can tell you from a whole lot of experience that iMovie 6 is far easier to use than iMovie 8. Try, for example to put music below the the words in a family video. Good luck. You can't even change the volume! In iMovie 6 you just pull the little line up and down. |
