Sorry to hear you have problems with it.
I have tested it on the following configurations.
MAC G3 233mhz 256 mb Ram OS 8.6 + Explorer 5 + Quicktime 5.02 NO PROBLEMS
MAC G3 233mhz 256 mb Ram OS 9.2.2 + Explorer 5 + Quicktime 6 preview NO
PROBLEMS
MAC G4 800mhz 1024 mb Ram OS 9.2.2 (also in classic)+ Explorer 5.1 +
Quicktime 6.02 NO PROBLEM
MAC G4 800mhz 1024 mb Ram, OSX + Explorer 5.2 and SAFARI + Quicktime 6.3 NO
PROBLEM
My Powerbook 17. NO Problem.
WIN XP ON VIRTUAL PC (LIKE A 300 MHZ PENTIUM) EXPLORER+ QUICKTIME 6.1 NO
PROBLEM.
I left the best to last.
Powerbook 3400 OS8.6 80 mb Ram Explorer 5 and Quicktime 5.01
I had only 21,5 mb ram left to open the movie. It performed perfectly.
AND THE VIDEO RAM IS ONLY 1mb, The movie is HQ enabled and it showed up
perfectly with no banding at all. And panning on this oldie was smooth and
easy. Better than on my G3.
In theory this should be impossible because the movie is 61 mb uncompressed
and should use even more ram available.
Full Download is about 40 seconds on my 512 k DSL
The only configuration I know of has problem is with QT 5 on MAC OSX.
Tiling with 4x4 or 5x5 did not load and I have not used that since.
The problems you describe must be because of a System error, perhaps in
OS9.1 That was a very bad system. Upgrade to 9.2 it is much better.
What about Daniels last week. I believe he has used 5x5 or 6x6
