I currently use a F717 for my panoramic work; with normal WA converter or a
Raynox full frame fisheye.
The new Canon D300 sold as a kit in US at $999 is very tempting.

I have a peleng that I used with my Minolta 800si that has been building up
dust for a long time. I know I can get a Canon mount for this lens, but
wondering if it will work with the D300. It says that EF lens will work but
don9t know how this would figure in. I had to jump through some hoops to use
with my Minolta SLR since it tried to disable the shutter thinking no lens
was attached.
I know the Sigma may be better but I could put of spending another $800 for
a while.
FYI the kit lens will be 28-90mm equiv. And a 88-320 equiv will sell for
around $350.
