thanks for testing help :)

Hi Everyone,

I'd just like to say a big thankyou to the people who checked out the
Livestage VR project I was working on - your assistance was invaluable in
helping track down an issue that was crashing quicktime on windows.

For everyone's benefit the problem was this - I had created a download
indicator using LSP's Status Bar Fast-Track. Since it was Pano and Object
movies I didn't want a play progress indicator, just the background, and a
bar showing how much had been downloaded.

The default FT Editor in LSP for the Status Bar doesn't seem to give any
way to disable any of the three indicators (Background, Download, Progress)
so I simply dropped a transparent .gif file into the Progress image well.

It worked fine on MacOS 9/X and on some Windows installs, but it also
crashed QT on some windows machines.

Decompiling the Fast-Track to get at the guts of it allowed me to delete
the Progress sprite altogether and everything is working now.

Anyway the final version is online now if anyone would like to have a look,
it's now launching from a poster movie in a web page, and has a map
included.

One other thing I've noticed, It seems .qtif images (exported as png24 from
photoshop, then exported as qtif from pictureviewer with Photo-jpeg
compression) maintain their brightness/contrast cross platform, instead of
being a lot darker on windows

I've got a comparison of my skin images, one embedded qtif (Photo-jpg) and
the other plain .jpg

Can anyone elaborate on why this is (unless its just the ancient PC I've
got here)?

Cheers

Matt.
