Object VR Default View State

Lately I've been playing around with Object VR View States and LiveStage Pro. A really powerful way of working with Objects, specially when you can switch the view states at will to any of the View States included in a movie.

Traditionally you were able to add as many View States (for example with QTVRAS) but have access to only two (Mouse Down view State and Mouse Up View State - or Default View State). Now with LSP 4 and QT 6 you get access to all your View States.

Now that I've learnt how to access and enable these View States at will I have a fundamental question:

In which situation(s) I would want to change the Current View State?????

I can perfectly understand when you'd want to change the Default and Mouse Down View States, but with these two states I find the Current View State irrelevant.

Mind you that my question I think is more philosophical than anything else. I'm just wondering what were the engineers thinking when they came up with the 3 types of View States (Default, Current and Mouse Down).

Another thing that I find amazing is that it took about 6 years for Apple to give us a wired action to set these View States.

Thanks in advance to anyone that has any insight on this very minor questions I've got.
