When an electronic device (camera or anything else) is wet, the most
important is to sack out as quickly as possible all the batteries and
electricity sources, included the lithium battery that keep the
parameters. Then, it can be wet longer safely. Not much electronic
devices are really destroyed by water, but the water is conductive and
can cause electronic damages if there is a power source. Then, you can
dry it carefully, opening the outher case.
