How about changing the image first to a high FOV cylindrical image?
You can do this in Panotools, optionally with the assistance of PTGui
or PTMac.
Panning across an equirectangular image would look bad.
Maybe fake it somehow.
Aside from the distortion, how bout panning a window over an Equirectancular
image (Spherical stitched from 2 fisheyes in Panoweaver) any one tried that?
If so, does it look as horrible as it sounds? I am open to any and all
creative ideas. Don9t need anything high-end just need to showcase hoe it
works for a couple of seconds, to let the user play with it a little... An
interactive teaser of sorts.
Thank you all for the creative input!!!
