Help: need to buy a spherical head today

Leaving for a trip next week. Been some time since i shopped for pan heads but gosh are those Kaidans expensive!
Anyway i need some advice regarding a decent head for shooting spherical because my contraption wont cut it (for cylindrical but i jury-rigged it for spherical). So, i need to purchase something. Or if someone in Pittsburgh has a machine shop I have another piece of aluminum lying around ;-)

Currently it's an unwieldy Manfrotto 3415 head w/leveler on a 3021 tripod. Both of which are borrowed so i would rather buy another complete kit rather than augment this - I'll have loose parts lying around when i have to give it back.
