is it possible to create a hotspot name in a cubic vr on a website without
using sophisticated software? I managed to establish a hotspot by using
MakeCubic and the hotspot tutorial, available on the Apple website. Using
the parameter "hotspot123="url", I managed to make hotspot 123 work, calling
"url" - but I still have just the annoying "hotspot #123" name in the status
line of the QuicktimePlayer.

Did you try clicking on the "Hotspot settings" button in the "File>Convert..." dialog of MakeCubic? If you didn't, you can open your current movie up with MakeCubic, and then click the Hotspot Settings button.
