Re: Cubics with PTViewer

Hi Tony,

I've got several Macs here. After I read that you used a Mac running 9.1, I
tried it on two other Macs not running OS X (which is where I first
identified this):

1. iBook running 9.2. It never got further than "Loading Image". No
percentages displayed. I closed it after about 30 minutes.

2. G3 B&W running 8.6. It got passed "Loading Image... 80% Complete" and
actually made it's way to "96% Complete". That's where it stopped. I gave
it about an hour before closing it.

I do have a 1MB DSL Internet connection, so load times are fairly quick.
Not sure what is going on other than PTViewer could be inconsistent in
regards to large image files. Two other people on the QT List said it could
not handle large images. Maybe your iMac is running some version of the
Java VM that is able to handle this? I'm not a Java expert so I'm just
guessing.

The YHA images do work on my Mac OS X system in both PTViewer and QT
formats.

Could you (or anyone else on this list) tell me if you have successfully run
cubics in PTViewer on the different Windows operating systems
(95/98/NT/2000/XP)? I need to be sure I can successfully run cubics on
PTViewer and QT on all platforms. For my projects that need to run on
PTViewer and QT, the cubics will be fairly small in size; probably no larger
than 200K.

Thanks!!!

Regards,
Will
