fisheye adapter images & stitching

I use an 8mm (.25) fisheye adapter (Phoenix Corp's Superfisheye) in my
business to shoot residential interiors (samples at site below). Lens
doesn't have a very good coating, but it works ok for the price.

I use a Bogen 3030 on a medium duty tripod with a leveler base and my
camera (Kodak DC280) mounted vertically and ligned up over the nodal point
with a custom bracket. The lens gives me about 140degrees and I take 8
shots. 8 shots is more than you need, but it gives you better res and
some flexibility in case of a problem later (one of the images didn't come
out)

I sometimes use Live Picture's Photovista 1.01 which is an old version,
not sure if you can still find it on the web. After version 1.01, Live
Picture's Photovista didn't work with fisheye lenses due to the whole
patent litigation issue surrounding IPIX and Ford Oxal. That's been
resolved now (in Ford Oxal's favor), and I've heard that Live Picture
(formerly MGI) includes support for fisheye lenses in their most recent
release, but you'd want to verify that first.

Photo Vista seems to work well if everything is lined up perfectly and
there are no difficult stitching issues between two shots.

Other times, I use Panorama Tools & PTGui. PTGui is a gui graphical
front-end that makes Pano Tools a whole lot more user friendly ;)

Pano Tools & PTGui does a better job in my opinion. The big difference is
it takes more time because you have to select your Control Points manualy.

Here's some good info on using PTGui:

Panoguide.com has always been my main source for stitching tutorials.

Good luck!
