I have searched the list archives and scoured the web, and there seems (at
least to me) to be a limited amount of options (supported by many contrary
opinions) for dealing directly with the stitching of 8mm circular fisheye
images, from any number of sources (2, 3, 4, 5), into spherical QTVRs. I
would be most grateful if the expertise on this list could help in clearing
the IPIX-induced patent fog hovering over this practice and, hopefully,
conjure some sort of experiential consensus on acceptable solutions,
depending on the output of course. As far as I can tell, these are some of
the standard ways to proceed:
1. Get the IPIX kit and enjoy.
2. Use Panoweaver.
3. Use Pano Tools or PTMac with the .lib that opens up to a 180 FOV setting.
4. Defish and then stitch.
5. ?
