Re: quicktime-vr digest, Vol 3 #800 - 8 msgs

LiveStage Pro does this in bang-up fashion. Sort of an expensive solution, but right now I think they are still selling it for half-off, though. Find it at www.totallyhip.com . It auto-starts on Windoze and leads you to a QT installer if QT is missing or not a new enough version. On the Mac, you have to open the CD and click on a quickstart that detects QT version and leads to the installer if needed. Both then open the panorama afterwards, I believe. It is easy to get a free auto-starter for Mac and PC by searching the web, but I haven't seen one that will install QT like this.

Subject: Installing QuickTime from CD
From: David Griffith <email@hidden>
To: <email@hidden>

Hi all,

I9m sure this question has been asked and answered a million times, but I
haven9t been able to find it in the archives.

I have an auto-run cd that has the QuickTime standalone installers on it.
Obviously, to get to the installers you need to explore9 the cd in windows
which some people wouldn9t know about.

Is it possible to have a link on a web page that can launch the installer
from the cd, or even to open the window containing the installers from the
CD?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Dave Griffith.
