that's why Apple revamped the QuickTime Player application, many people (and computer magazine CD-ROMs) think of QuickTime as a multimedia player (some even think of it as just a linear video player) and they will care to install it if it sounds cool to them.

Installing the QuickTime Player they get QuickTime too, even if the real truth is vice-versa ;o)
[in fact even some programmers think that the QuickTime API is an API to control the QuickTime Player application!]
