Olympus E1 DSLR - 4/3rd camera a good choose for high res panos?

http://www.dpreview.com/articles/olympuse1/

A lot of people in forums today are complaining about the $2100 price, but
that is not confirmed by Olympus, and even if it is, who knows what it will
really sell for, if $1200-1500 then much more reasonable.

Still as I have no SLR equipment other than a Minolta Body and lens from
film days, I9d love for my jump into DSLR to be in the 4/3rd format which I
see as the future as it has advantages over 35mm ccd sizes due to angle of
light going to the edges of the CCD.

This camera in particular also seems to talk about higher dynamic range
(although I don9t know how or to what extent)

The camera also seems rugged for field use, and although I9d like more than
5mp, for panos using a 21mm equiv lens that should yield plenty of
resolution.

Other highlights - I don9t know if lens support this day one, but they say
that lens can communicate with camera to do in camera distortion correction.

Things I think they need to fix: need histogram for review! and would like
wider bracket setting for HDRI work.
