Re: Pixlet codec; HDR; 48bit panoramas

Hi,

On VRlog.com today, I posted a note about the news of the Pixlet codec providing display of 48 bit content.

Wouldn't it be great if this helps lay the groundwork for Apple to provide
viewing of HDR panoramas with QuickTime?

When I watched the keynote last night, this was exactly what went through my mind. Will this codec be useful for panorama compression? Probably not for the web but for full screen displays at shows and stores it might be just perfect.

Am looking forward on getting my hands on a G5 and Panther. Have been waiting for this for years now and my sweet but weak white iBooks really needs a big brother.

Have a nice day,

Harald
