Monitor recommendation

I needed a bigger flat screen monitor. I checked out several, including the models from Apple, but since I produce my panos pretty much in 4 x 3 aspect ratio I didn't see the need for the 16 x 9 ratio of the Apple monitors. I ended up getting a Viewsonic VP191B. It has a 600 to 1 contrast ratio. It's great and I would highly recommend it to anybody who is looking for a new monitor. I like the brightness, contrast and sharpness of my 15" KDS monitor, which I have been using as extended desktop with my Titanium Powerbook better than the display of my Powerbook, but this new Viewsonic VP191B, which is a digital TFT display, really outdoes the KDS LCD by a big margin. The general ergonomics of the stand are very good too, and the display pivots like those old Radius monitors and comes with the software to do so.

Thanks to all the scientists and engineers who have been working on the new TFT and other technologies. They really are a big improvement, as, no doubt, many of you are already aware, but this is the first I have had the opportunity to work with one of these things and it will really save my eyes and make life easier!
